Tung Ching-sai is the chief executive officer and executive director of Xinyi Glass Holdings Ltd ("Xinyi ").0Established in 1988, Xinyi Glass Holdings Ltd is an integrated manufacturer of glass products for the automobile and construction sectors. Mr. Tung is one of the founding members, leading Xinyi to a public listing on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in February 2005.
Xinyi has established four production plants in Shenzhen, Dongguan, Wuhu and Hong Kong, employing around 4,500 staff. All the plants are certified with various international standards, such as ISO9001:2000, ISO14001:1996, QS9000:1998 and VDA6.1. Mr Tung has taken the lead in upgrading technology and developing new products. During the year of 2006, the Group invested in the production of "Ultra-clear Photovoltaic Glass" and "SOLAR-X" which are state-of-the-art products in the field. Also, Mr Tung has driven market diversification, expanding Xinyi's sales network to China, Hong Kong, Asia, America, Australia, New Zealand, and countries and territories in the Middle East, Africa, Europe and Japan. Xinyi now exports 60 per cent of its products to over 80 countries.
Under Mr Tung's leadership, both Xinyi's turnover and clientele recorded substantial increases in recent years. Xinyi has been the largest Chinese exporter of automobile glass products since 2004. It has also recorded remarkable performance in the aftermarket under the own brand name "XYG". Xinyi currently supplies automobile glass products to renowned car manufacturers including Ford, Volkswagen, Yu Tong and Chery. Xinyi also produces a full range of construction glass to construction projects such as the Lan Kwai Fong Tower in Hong Kong, Jinan International Airport in China, Shanghai Grand Gateway, etc. He has also set up an R&D centre in Shenzhen for Xinyi's long-term development.
Mr Tung involves in a number of community services. He is a committee member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference of Fujian Province, a committee member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Nanping Committee of Fujian Province, the chairman of the Shenzhen Federation of Young Entrepreneur, vice president of Automobile Association of Shenzhen, etc. He was awarded with the Third Shenzhen Municipal Ten Outstanding Young Entrepreneur in 2001.
