Austin Na is the Co-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of O-Net Communications (Group) Limited which was established in 2000. From the outset, O-Net has been engaged principally in the supply of passive optical networking subcomponents, components, modules and subsystems employed in high-speed telecommunications and data communications networks. Through its strong research and development (R&D) ability, O-Net offers a broad product portfolio spanning 40 product lines including more than 7,700 part numbers.

Under Mr Na’s leadership, O-Net has forged a vertically integrated business model, a pioneering organisational achievement in the industry. As a result of Mr Na’s commitment to excellence in every facet of O-Net’s business operation, the company has realised solid business growth over the past several years, with its net profit recording a CAGR of 97% from 2007 to 2009. With the successful listing of O-Net’s shares on the Main Board of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited on 29 April 2010, the company is on the right track towards enhancing its competitive edge, harnessing advanced technology within its core products and extending its customer base both internationally and domestically.

Befitting its position as a technology leader, O-Net has a high quality client base including leading international telecom enterprises such as Alcatel-Lucent and Huawei and contract manufacturers including Ciena and Infinera. Reinforcing O-Net’s vital role in deploying advanced technology, O-Net is also committed to delivering highly customised products which promise favourable profit margins.

The rapid increase in demand for high bandwidth applications arising from music and video downloads, streaming, video-on-demand, online gaming and the decentralisation of enterprise networks through cloud computing, etc. has resulted in abundant opportunities for the broadband network sector. O-Net is currently constructing a new 80,000 sq.m. production facility in Pingshan New District in Shenzhen which is expected to increase the production capacity fivefold over the existing one. To strengthen O-Net’s position within the industry, Mr Na is leading the company to focus on next-generation applications capable of 40Gbps and 100Gbps transmission capacity expected to lead to greater reliability, cost efficiencies and improved network performance. With the integration of telecommunications, broadcasting and internet industries now occurring in Mainland China, Mr Na has his sights set on capturing still more opportunities by way of next-generation networks.
