  1. What is the eligibility of entering the Awards?

In general, industrialists who are between 21 and 45 years of age (as at 31 December, 2007), and have resided in HK for more than seven years, who have worked for a business (registered in HK) engaged in industry, are eligible.

  2. What are the judging criteria?

You will need to fulfil all the basic requirements mentioned in Q1. The judging panel will then focus mainly on the nominee's outstanding personal "achievements" in his own field. Also, the nominee's "commitment" to his/her profession/industry, and his/her "contribution" to industry/community, as well as his/her "integrity" constitute the other major criteria for consideration in the selection.

  3. If the nominee's company is engaged in many different business areas, and manufacturing is just part of it, is he/she eligible?

Since the judging panel will focus mainly on manufacturing and information technology, the nominee needs to be outstanding in either field. The major responsibility of the nominee in the company also counts.

  4. How many people have been awarded over the years? How many people, on average, win the Awards every year?

There are altogether 145 winners in the past 20 years, and the number of winners varies every year.

  5. What are the procedures of entering the Award?

    Pls see the Flow Chart.

  6. Who would be the most appropriate person to be a nominator?

Anyone can be the nominator, including commercial/non-commercial organisations, staff or spouse. The part filled in by the nominator is the most crucial part and may affect the judging decision, therefore it should be filled in by someone who knows the nominee very well. To have someone well-recognised to be the nominator will not improve the chances of winning.

  7. Do I need to be a Federation member before I can nominate or be nominated?

No. But if you wish to join the Federation, please click here.

  8. My company is engaged in information technology. Am I eligible?

From the year 2000 onwards, development and application of information technology has been included in the Awards, and the Federation welcomes nominees from that field. However, please note that nominees are required to submit an audited and consolidated financial statement(s) for the recent three years for examination. If the company started business less than three years ago, he/she may be asked to submit such statements of his/her former employer, to prove his/her track record.
